Appalacian Brown butterfly
Forecast was for strong thunderstorms to come through in the early hours of the morning. So I shut windows last night (except for my bedroom) and put things away outside. Woke up a little before 6 (yes, I overslept). The sky was leaden but no rain yet. Fed the kittens and then took off w/ Indy for a walk. Still no rain by the time we returned. Did a load of clothes, made hummingbird necter, cooked breakfast, watched the news, filled the bird feeders, dug out and moved the sneezeweed, pulled out nightshade growing up the dog run, put in an order w/ Replacements, watered the house plants, and cleaned the kitchen before it finally started raining at 9:20. Maybe that's the early hours of the morning to some people but to the vast majority of the rural population half the day is already gone.
