Oak leaves

What's left of the seasonal color is the red oak which will keep their leaves until next spring and the tamarack which have turned a golden yellow. Today was overcast and rainy. It's looking a little bleak. These kind of days are a necessary part of autumn. The landscape needs to turn brown and stark so we start looking forward to the sparkling white blanket of snowy winter. Stopped off at the library this morning for Coffee and Conversation and to pick up the books that I had ordered from other libraries. Waiting for me was "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" book (actually it's written in play format), a 6 DVD set on North American geology, and an audiobook by M.C. Beaton - "Death of a Cad". If we are going to have more nasty autumnal days, I might as well have something good to read/watch/listen to.
