Red Maple buds
The day dawned sunny so I and Indy hit the swamps early. Saw a bird sitting on the stockade when I got back home. Too far to make out but took a picture. When I blew it up, there was a bluebird. Should have known - the morning chorus has started to sound downright pretty. So ... more work to do. First I took my stash of aspen shavings to the wood duck house. I gingerly opened it up (always have it in the back of my mind that I might see a bat in there) took out last years shavings and put fresh ones in. Then started visiting the blue bird houses. I reattached the houses to their stands so they are all set when the bluebirds are.
