Mike, the farmhand was back at work (thank goodness) but Domingo was gone today. The bosses had arranged for the Hispanics to attend a cow handling class being given in Spanish. We were short-handed at milking again. The herdsman said that after milking we would scrub the parlor as usual but just the backspashes and front monitors. She had to stick around most of the day anyway so she planned on scrubbing the walls later. I was getting ready to scrub when she said she would be right back to help me after she finished cow check. I did the backsplashes on the east side and, since the herdsman hadn't yet returned, went ahead and did the pipes and walls. Then I started on the west side. Mike ambled through, grabbed a bucket and helped w/ the walls and backspashes there. By the time the herdsman got back, Mike was rinsing down and I was working on the front monitors. Everything was cleaned. That's what the herdsman gets for leaving us w/o supervision for too long.
