Beginning to ripen

Got a bonus from work today - 15 lbs of hamburger. Not exactly the same kind of bonuses Honeywell would give me but just as much appreciated. The dairy owners already know that I won't take meat from the dairy cow I've milked. (Good thing I never became a farmer!) Carol, the dairy owner, asked if I'd like some hamburger she got from someone else. She swore it was from the beef a friend raises and not a cow I'd ever touched. She could be lying, I suppose. I wouldn't know the difference. Somehow, though, I think Carol kinda understands how I feel and besides she's as trustworthy as they come. My conscience will be clear when I make it into chili this fall.
