Jack-in-the-pulpit
Late this afternoon I realized I still had to make something for dinner, check the bird houses, see if the stupid orchid had bloomed yet, get gas, pick up my mail and the key for the library so I could open tomorrow. First - check the bird houses. Of course, it's not just checking for eggs. There are all of the other things to stop and see along the way - a little colony of Jack-in-the-pulpits, wood violets, choke cherry trees in bloom and, oh yeah, Indy came across that same duck on her nest again. She didn't hurt the duck but I have to remember to keep her on a leash when we go that way. Two of the bird houses are down near the orchid so I saved time by putting those tasks off until tomorrow's walk. Second - pick up the library key. Changed clothes and drove into town. Arrived at the library before it closed. However, along w/ the key I got hit up to sub for someone next week. (I'm such an easy touch after a good walk.) Third - since I was already in town I stopped by Glory B's and ordered a pizza and salad for supper. I told them I'd be back in 15 minutes and took off to pick up my mail and gas up the car. Everything completed (or postponed) Indy and I relaxed and enjoyed supper and a little play time.
