Sunshine through blowing snow

I've been watching the Great British Baking Show on PBS. On the surface it's another reality cooking show w/ contestants vying for the grand prize by being better than their competition - the worst baker for that week leaves until one person is left. If you watch the show, though, you immediately see it is vastly different from the American variety. These contestants actually help each other out. You won't hear them saying nasty, snide asides about the other bakers. While the judges critique the baker's work, they are constructive in their criticism and stay away from saying truly hateful things. It's all very charming - each baking contest even takes place in a tent constructed in a meadow. Plus, after watching the show, I might even give making doughnuts a try.
