Mermaid Fountain
Slept in late until 7:30 a.m. Listened to the news and then dressed to go see Aunt June. She was anxious to get off her ward, have coffee w/ me, and hear the latest. We usually go up to the Assisted Living area. They have a cookie jar (today was gingerbread) and are located on the east side of the building so the morning sun shines in on us. I told her what was going on w/ the family and the world. She likes hearing who is throwing their hat into the presidential ring (not that she knows them or even will remember them but I believe she enjoys my animated commentary of what I think of their chances.) We went through the rest of the buildings checking out the valentine decorations, the birds, the chapel, and looking outside at the snow. Then it's down to the nurses station to check out the flowers. Often families send some of the flower arrangements from funerals to the nursing home and I pick them up and bring them down to Aunt June's wheelchair so she can smell them and see them up close. Breakfast this morning was to be eggs and bacon. I left June at her dining room just as it was being served. Picked up groceries on the way out of town and got home just before noon. A good morning.
