A picture from Dougie Dearhamer.
Saturday was a warm day (relatively speaking) and I noticed that I could once again see the covers over the sewer system. It had been bothering me that I hadn't cleaned the sewer filter on Labor Day but had shrugged it off thinking I wouldn't get a chance to do it until Memorial Day now. I decided to go for it. I put Indy in the house. I doubt she would fall down the sewer opening but no sense taking chances. First obstacle was getting off the concrete top. It would barely budge but w/ some work I got it moved over enough so I could reach in for the filter. I got down on my knees. I also didn't want to fall into the sewer system. I pulled out the filter, cleaned it off in the snow, and put it back in place. A little more tugging and pushing and the heavy top was back in place too. Just another part of the joys of country living. What city folk miss.
