Jelly Ear fungi
I have a burst bladder. Fortunately that isn't as dire as it sounds. The bladder is in my water pressure tank. When I turned on water it started coming out in bursts from my faucets. I could hear the pump motor cycling constantly when I was doing laundry. Of course, my description of the problem in the call to my plumber was totally inadequate but it took him less than five minutes once he stopped by to diagnose what was going on. The pressure tank has a bladder in it that separates the water at the bottom from the air on top. The air can contract or expand to give a cushion for the pump to react to the house's call for water. If the membrane bladder bursts the tank will fill completely w/ water and the cushion is gone. Instead of trying to work out a time when the plumber can come back and install a new tank, we agreed that he would just walk in whether I was here or not, do the installation, and leave the bill on my deacon's bench. Can't be too worried about that arrangement, my plumber is also my neighbor.
