Maiden Hair fern

Received a desperate call from Dave, the library volunteer scheduled for tonight. He'd forgotten it was his anniversary, could I fill in for him at the library? Sure - figured the poor guy had enough worries already. I arrived early and told the volunteer on duty I'd take over. She was more than ready to leave. A man had just left that accused her of harassing him and he planned on making a complaint.  All she could figure out was that when she checked out his books a message had popped up on the screen asking for her to input his address. She asked him for it and he went into his tirade. I told her he'd probably just had a bad day and not to think about it.  A lady was already at one of the computers and asked for my help.  She was filling out a employment application and it made no sense to her. I helped her through it (obviously, the company had outsourced their website to the lowest bidder!)  The usual Wednesday night gang come in plus people asking where the railroad meeting was.  A little research in the library newspaper copies did mention a meeting had been planned next door at the village hall about closing two streets in the village where they met the railroad crossing.  However this week's newspaper said the meeting had been postponed for two weeks. I let people know and they all took the news pretty well. Closed up at 7 p.m. - easy night.
