Garter Snake swimming

A few years ago a county road crew had used a big machine to chew up some small trees and shrubs along the road on my property (but technically within the road right-of-way). I had stopped them just before they got to the lilac bushes but they just came back in the morning while I was at work and cut them all down too. Phil and Brent are here pulling old fence line now and I had asked if they would do the fence next to the road. After they finished, Phil said the lilacs are growing back nicely and also that two of my metal fence posts had been cut through when the road crew had been slashing the lilacs. Had to have bent or broke their saw blade when they hit them. I smiled - that crew should have listened to me.
