Friday

The whole day had been so foggy, it was hard to tell where earth ended and heaven began. Indy and I started out on our walk late and it was getting quite dark by the time we were returning home through the woods. Suddenly the bare tree canopy overhead positively erupted in the sound of wings. I let out a half startled/ half amazed "Whoo" as I looked up and saw the big bodies of wild turkeys rising out of the branches high above. I hadn't thought about where wild turkeys spend the night, hadn't realized they would roost together, plus I had no idea there were so many of them in the area. Watched in amazement as they all flew off in different directions. Mental note: In the future, don't forget to look up.
