Easter is the Sunday after the first full moon of spring (i.e. after the vernal equinox.) If the full moon falls on a Sunday, as it does this year, Easter is the following Sunday. This full moon gets it's name not from the color but from the plant - a type of wild ground phlox which is an early blooming flower. I've never found that plant in my backyard but I have been on the look for the Grass Pink - an early blooming orchid of acidic meadows and bogs. All I found today were ticks. Guess they, too, are a sign that spring has arrived.
