Belt of Venus

Today I sent an e-mail to the newspaper to put in a block ad announcing the township's January caucus for the nomination of people to run for the town offices. Then sent another e-mail to the newspaper to put in a legal ad stating the township had wood cutting permits available for residents to cut downed trees on town land. Sent an e-mail later, another legal ad, because the board had updated an ordinance. Last week sent a request for a block ad offering town land for sale. The state still doesn't recognize websites as an official place to post notices. So... as long as each municipality has to run every announcement in the paper and, therefore, everyone has to buy a paper to find out what's going on in the area ... it seems to me that the local papers have a pretty good basis of income. On cold days like this morning, I'm tempted to quit the dairy and look for a job there. Bet their employees don't worry about shaking teats to prevent frostbite.
