Snow covered branches
Meant to take a short walk w/ Indy today but it was so pretty out that we just kept on going. Saw a buck bounding through an open field. He looked more like he was reveling in the new fallen snow than running from something. Quiet enough that I could stand and listen to the chickadees and white-breasted nuthatches feeding in the top of spruce trees. Came across tire tracks in the back 40 so trailed them to my neighbor's land. He's probably gone there to get his stands ready for hunting season. When we got home, Indy settled down for a nap and I downloaded the pictures I snapped. They all looked like they had been taken in black & white. Maybe that is one of the charms of this time of year - simplicity.
