Golden Pholiota mushrooms
I was worried about crossing Deer Tail creek near the dairy this morning. This small creek was running high when I left work yesterday. That, however, was not the creek I needed to be concerned about. Devil's creek about 1/2 mile from me covered the road this morning, though the bridge itself was above water. It wasn't so much Devil's creek was flooding as the river it feeds was running over flood stage and just backed up along the creek. It inundated the surrounding swamps that initially couldn't take the overload and flooded the road. By the time I came home from work this morning, the road was clear again and, thankfully, I think the rain has stopped.
