Cotton Grass
Got a letter from the town's assessor today. The state dictates what they think each municipality is worth and the assessor has to assess the land to come within 10% of that amount. Last year, our assessor reworked the entire township but was not within the required limit on "wild" land (i.e. forest/ag-forest/swamp). If we don't make the state's requirement this year, the township will have to foot the bill for a state assessor to come in. So, the letter informed me that my forested land is going up 15%, the ag-forest 8 %, and the swamp 50%. You know I think the swamps are the "happening" place to be. Just surprised the state seems to think so too.
