Red Maple flowers
Lisa, the intern, and I were sweating as we milked this morning. The temp was only 65 degrees F but the cows put off a lot of heat & humidity and we were keeping busy. I checked w/ the herdsman to see if we could turn on the fans. Normally, turning on the fans would be a no-brainer but, this early in the season, I didn't know if they had removed the insulation the fans are packed with in the Fall. The insulation was still in place but the herdsman quickly remedied that and the fans were on in the parlor and in the holding pen for the cows for the rest of the milking. April 2nd and we need fans to cool off. What's next? Hawaiian shirts under bib overalls?
