Phil & Brent putting up birdhouses

Phil and Brent got together and made bluebird houses for me and gave them to me as a gift for this upcoming Christmas (think their "Christmas gifts" take me up to 2025 now). They put the houses up in pairs. One house will likely be taken over by swallows. Swallows are so territorial they will keep other swallows away and the bluebirds will (hopefully) inhabit the second one. I will check the houses every week and enter what I find into a spreadsheet. I had them label each house w/ a letter so there would be a link between a physical object and my data. Phil, knowing my penchant for naming inanimate objects, left enough room after each letter so I can later give each a more formal moniker. A is for ...
