Lisa started at the dairy today as an intern. She's enrolled in an Ag program and was looking for some on-hands experience working in a milking parlor situation. However, the milking area isn't all that big. Usually there are only two milkers and we can easily waltz back & forth between the two lines of cows. Sometimes there are three people around and then it's more of a ballet as we swirl and duck to avoid each other. This morning there were four since Carol, the owner, was there to train Lisa. On top of that, Lisa didn't yet know where to stand or what to do. Don't know how I would describe it - maybe a mosh-pit? Anyway, Carol left after the first two groups of cows, the herdsman was in and out of the parlor as he got busy w/ a cow calving, and Lisa started getting comfortable w/ the routine. Have to admit, she managed a lot better than I did on my first day. (Wonder when
Dancing w/ the Stars will start up again?)
