Frosty White Pine

I had picked up an Amaryllis bulb a couple of weeks ago thinking that I would give it as a gift. The clerk had said that if it was kept in the dark it probably wouldn't start growing. I kept in a paper bag but when I went to wrap it, it had not only leaves but a long curved stalk w/ bud. Decided that it couldn't wait any longer, planted it and have watched it straighten out, grow over a foot tall, and spread out into a couple of buds in just a week. Might even have a flower by Christmas!
