Mountain Maple

Snow showers again this morning. Still, even on a damp, cold, overcast day, the woods are pretty and alive. I only saw the white tail of a deer that we surprised. Indy flushed a pair of ruffed grouse. Listened as a flock of chickadees called to each other in the branches. Most of the brilliant red, orange, and yellow leaves have fallen in a carpet on the ground but there are other trees now turning bronze or gold. I never get bored around here - there are just too many interesting things to see and do!
