Thanksgiving Day will be early this year. Tonight I was shined as I walked in the fields after dark. It's not like this hasn't happened to me before but it doesn't mean that I like it any better when a truck slows on the road and turns an incredibly bright light in your eyes. Gun season is the week of Thanksgiving here and 'buck fever' is mounting. People in it's grip are out shining for deer and calibrating in their gun sights. However it's not deer season I'm thinking of. Tomorrow is the election and afterwards the 'political fever' which has infected us all for the last year will start to abate. I'd call that a day for thanksgiving.
