Nannyberry bushes

Stepped out on the deck w/ Indy just at sunrise. There was something different that I couldn't immediately figure out. The birds were starting up the morning chorus. During the winter, this daily songfest is pretty pathetic made up of barred owls hooting, turkeys gobbling, and the cawing of crows. I suddenly realized the trill of a couple of red-winged blackbirds. They're back! Still not exactly melodic but nice to hear another voice in the choir.

We heard (and saw) Robins when we walked this morning. There are little buds on the trees. Not a good sign when we know more snow is coming.
