I don't know if it's a Baptist thing or if everyone does it but my friend Nancy and I start discussing the sermon as soon as we reach the car after the church service. Evangelism was today's theme and the main verse was Acts 1:8. Nancy said her take-away was that she should consider her local area to be her mission field. My comment was wondering how to interpret the verse when we colonize Mars. Anyway, though the pastor was into his subject matter and an animated speaker, we both admitted to nodding off at some point during the service. Not a usual occurrence. Maybe it was the strong aroma of frying bacon that permeated the sanctuary as the youth group prepared a brunch for the congregation?
