This is the worst time of the year for SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). I thought it was probably triggered by just having fewer daylight hours. Now that I'm watching every morning for the spectacular sunrises cold weather causes, I'm realizing how many cloudy days we have in the winter. Both of those conditions is enough to make some people depressed. I'm not so happy about it myself at times. However, most of the time I revel in the beauty, quiet, and simplicity of this time of year. Plus it makes me appreciate the rest of the year when everything is alive and growing/crawling/running/chirping.
